Copy Subject from Photo

On iOS 16 you are able to remove the background from photos. The process is commonly called “Copy Subject”. This tutorial will show you a number of ways you do do this.

Using Photos app

  1. Open the Photos app and tap on the photo or video from where you wish to isolate and copy a subject.
  2. If you selected an image tap and hold on the subject.
  3. If you selected a video, then first scrub and pause at the frame with your subject.
  4. Now tap and hold on the screen.
  5. Select Copy from the context menu.
  6. Open the Sticker drop app to create your sticker.
  7. On the Sticker grid view, tap the Add (plus) button in the top left corner.
  8. Select From clipboard.

Your sticker will be added to Sticker drop and available to use in your messages.

Using Safari

  1. Open Safari and navigate to the URL of the image from where you wish to copy your subject.
  2. Once the image is open on your screen, tap and hold on the same. Select Copy Subject from the context menu.Note: If this option is unavailable, open the image in full screen or in a different tab.
  3. The selected subject will now be copied to your clipboard and you can now paste and share it anywhere you like.
  4. Open the Sticker drop app to create your sticker.
  5. On the Sticker grid view, tap the Add (plus) button in the top left corner.
  6. Select From clipboard from the menu.

Your sticker will be added to Sticker drop and available to use in your messages.
