Sticker Drop is an iOS app that let’ you easily create stickers from images. The idea was created to mainly use the “Copy Subject” feature on iOS 16. This feature allows a user to copy the main subject from an image.

The video below shows a demo of the first version of the app. It goes from doing a copy subject all the way though to using a shortcut to quickly create selfie stickers.

How it works

In iOS 16 photos app, long press on a photo.
It should do a “Copy Subject”. Where the main subject in the image is highlighted and menu is shown.
Tap share.
Find Sticker Drop.
Edit the appearance and tap Create.
Now navigate to the Messages app.
On the App tray scroll to find Sticker Drop, if you can’t find it, tap the 3 dots at the end of the row.
Your newly created sticker will be available to use in your Messages.
Tap on a sticker and drag it on to a message or just tap the sticker to send it as an image.

Export Stickers Packs to WhatsApp and Telegram
Shortcuts app: The “Create Sticker” action is an App Intent (new in iOS 16) it allows a user to create a sticker from an image. (See photo at end of document. The shortcut created allows you to take a selfie and turn it into a sticker).
iMessage extension, allows for dragging stickers into Message conversations.
Share extension: Shows the Sticker Drop action and Icon in the share sheet when sharing a photo. The user can import the image into Sticker Drop.
Quick look preview extension: When viewing a shared sticker pack the quick look preview shows the stickers in a fun way.
Warnings are shown if the user has not set a description. These descriptions are important when users with VoiceOver highlight a sticker.
Dark mode and Light mode.
Create and share sticker packs with others.
Export created stickers as photos (for use with other apps).
Custom App Icons.
Set default import settings.
Privacy is important, no analytics frameworks have been added.
Localisation: Available in a number of languages including, English, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Ukrainian.
